This year is the year of Planet Earth. The IYPE committee is holding conferences around the world. They want to get people’s attention so they can help the earth be a “safer place”- http://yearofplanetearth.org/index.html I chose this topic because I respect the only known planet with life on it. We have traveled a long way for many years and there are many more to come. I think this is the year to realize what we are doing to the earth. Either if it is hurting it for helping it. I live on this planet and I do not want it to be hurting. I think to help our earth today we should recycle more. Also use less energy because we are running low on resources. Drilling hurts our system now. We also need to conserve our water resources.

Recycling

Here in Fort Lauderdale, we recycle enough. My school for example is now putting green bins for us as students to recycle paper. The community gives home owners different color bins for different items. I reuse old copy papers to write my notes on and I refill my water bottles. Lets go Green and help the world.

I went to three very different blogs. Blake was the first person I went to. Then it was Max and now I ended up at Laura. On Laura’s blog, I saw that she had a post about a new puppy her and her family got. I have two puppies and I told her about them. One is called Rambo and he is a Labrador and Charly who is a shih-Tzu.

Here in the USA, we celebrate many festivals. On the 4^th of July, everyone is either having a party, or watching fireworks, or even making the show. The 4^th of July was when our nation became an independent nation. It relates to The Declaration of Independence. Most of the time, I watch fireworks that are being held in a field with a carnival going on. There is food, music, and many entertainment stall before the grand finale. As well as, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York. I haven’t attended, but I hear it is amazing. There are marching bands and the American Cheerleading team performs. I also think that New York is the best place to hold the Macy’s Day Parade because that is where the first Macy’s was built.

My blog roll below shows many things. It shows the 3 blogs that I enjoy throughout my class and 3 things I love. As well as, the class blog link. The 3 things that I love may seem very random, but it explains me in a few ways. The Starbucks link may express that I love coffee or I get sometimes hyper, which is true. I have just completed the Twilight series. The book is absolutely amazing and very interesting. Not only is it about love, but about friendship and there is a little bit of fighting. I am planning to watch the movie. McDonalds is one of my favorite fast food restaurants. The food there may be a little unhealthy but they keep me full for a few hours or just enough time to get through an entire afternoon. Also, the 3 girl’s blogs below have very different personalities but somewhat feel the same way about things. Kristen is the girly girl that enjoys having a good time, but her opinions make so much sense that you may as well agree with her. Fariha has her way of describing things. She is very smart and very serene. Serena and I sit next to each other and we get along amazingly. Her sense of style can be very confusing because she is everything. From punk to prep is her.

Poverty is hurting our world today. There are millions of people living that are suffering from poverty. One of these that I know of is Haiti. I am a Haitian-American living in Florida, and is worrying about her country. Haiti has been fighting poverty since it was known as the first independent country in the Caribbean Sea. After a few months of being hit by hurricanes, Haiti is suffering even more now. What can we do? There are many organizations such as Food for the Poor, which help people get shelter and foods that they need to survive. As I am aware of, Food for the Poor has been working double shift trying to feed the dying citizens. I can still remember the day, my family and I had a “picnic” at CB Smith Park. Many friends and other families attended bringing happy faces and fulfilled hearts. Little did I know that all the money that was raised from the food that we were selling, to the money that people were giving because we were dancing, was going to go to Haiti. Also my school is currently having drives collecting foods and toiletries for those poor countries that are indeed need.

Busy streets, many pedestrians, and houses fill my home. I have lived in southern Florida for all my life, and never doubted it. There are beaches, many events, and friends and family what is there not to love. The beaches are the best part. On a Sunday morning, my family and I would drive down to the beach and along the coast eat breakfast at the range of restaurants. They are the reason why tourist enjoys their stay along the coasts of south Florida. If you want to visit Miami, the beaches are a best way to leave a great mark in your vacation books. Apparently, it is always hot and mostly raining. Culture is a very big part of Miami. We have a very large multi-cultural population. Some cities are very stereotyped. This city is equal to all man and woman. I can never leave. There are many schools and the one I go to is one of the bests. On a typical day, I ride the bus to and from school. In between, I am locked in a classroom for 8 hours, but I survive with my friends. I have algebra, language arts, advance science, computers*, journalism and US History in that order. We have 3 minutes to get to each class, and with 600 students, in a two-story building, it can get pretty forceful. On the weekends, I hangout like a normal teenager.

My avatar below signifies me very well. My background as you can see shows a classroom, which is my job everyday from 9 am to 3:15 pm. Even though my school has uniform, my outfit shows that I am very outgoing and very classy but casual. I would actually wear that in reality. I love to smile and I would rarely have a frown on my face.

When it comes to my privacy, I am very serene. My tagline states, “My sanctuary awaits for you to come and read. Peace.Love.Happiness,” meaning that anything written on my blog is for you to enjoy. My sanctuary is where I can describe myself in the best way in my point of view and it wants the audience to see me in that way, no other. Unfortunately, the audience will always have their own opinion, but the reading can help change that. My world is always at peace in some way, and it is filled with love. I love everyday that I am living because I am still here. That’s where the happiness comes from. My blog is not for judging other peoples actions, which messes up the ‘vibe’ that has been created.

You are probably wondering why an outgoing girl like me, chose a very simple theme like this. This theme popped out at me once I saw it. There isn’t much to it which is what I love. I can change the colors of the headline though. I don’t want my theme to be difficult because I know if I was someone else reading it I would get very frustrated with the many columns and colors. I like things simple and to the point and I am not good on details. Currently the only theme that I have seen was my class, but we chose that on a contest between 3 other themes. That theme describes all the different unique characters in our only 8^th grade computer class.
